Bacon and Balsamic Glazed Green Beans

 

Ingredients:

4 slices bacon

1 pound green beans

1 small garlic clove

¼ cup yellow onion

½ teaspoon SPG mix

2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Preparation:

  1. Freeze bacon 10 minutes (this makes cutting very easy)

  2. Trim ends off green beans and set green beans aside

  3. Puree garlic and set aside

  4. Small dice onion and set aside

  5. Take bacon out of freezer, slice into ¼ inch thick strips and set aside

 

Cooking:

  1. In a large sauté pan, bring ½ inch of water to a boil

  2. Add green beans and blanch 1 minute

  3. Strain green beans and set aside

  4. Pre-heat same pan over a medium-high flame 1 minute

  5. Add bacon and sauté 4 minutes, stirring occasionally

  6. Add onions and sauté 1 minute

  7. Add green beans, garlic and SPG mix and sauté 1 minute

  8. Add brown sugar and vinegar, toss and sauté 1 minute

  9. Serve and enjoy
